Bexhill On Sea
This kitchen was always going to make a statement as our client was really looking to push the boundaries with the design. Our client was connected to the design process throughout and explained that their vision for the bespoke island was a ‘block of metal’ which had been recovered honed into a kitchen island.
We worked through the options of many different materials, tones and combinations until we arrived at this island which is completely unique and coated in champagne gold ragged shagreen. The tall units, although understated, are of the highest quality finished in dark patinated iron to really make the island stand out as the main feature in this modern open living space. Integral to the clients ‘wish-list’ was a bar cabinet for entertaining, so together we developed the concept for the pocket door bar unit. The ragged shagreen details within the cabinet were intended to unify the bar to the island when the pocket door system was being utilised during dinner parties.
